A desert oddity worth the double-take. The Madagascar Palm (Pachypodium lamerei) isn't actually a palm — it's a spiny succulent with a thick, silvery trunk topped by a crown of long green leaves, like a yucca crossed with a cactus.
It thrives on bright light (a sunny window is ideal), well-draining soil, and water only when the soil is fully dry — it stores water in that trunk for a reason. Slow-growing and architectural, it makes a striking, low-maintenance focal point. Watch out for those spines when repotting. Available in 4" and 6" pots.
