The plant that started a thousand collections. Monstera adansonii — the Swiss Cheese Vine — grows heart-shaped leaves perforated with natural holes, giving it that unmistakable, lacy "five holes" look as it climbs or trails.
It's a fast, forgiving grower: medium to bright indirect light, water when the top inch or two of soil dries, and a pole to climb (or let it cascade from a hanging basket — both look great).
