Meet your plant
- Pets: Pet-friendly β generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
- Light: Bright indirect light.
- Care level: Easy (1/3). A forgiving choice with the right light and a simple routine.
Non-toxic does not mean edible. Chewing any plant can upset a pet's stomach; keep plants and accessories out of reach. Care levels are Pink Llama's practical guidance, not a guarantee.
A wax plant with an Australian accent. Hoya australis grows thick, glossy oval leaves on vigorous vines, eventually producing clusters of star-shaped, fragrant white flowers with a deep red center β a true bonus for a foliage-first plant.
Give it bright indirect light (a few hours of gentle direct sun encourages blooms), and let the soil dry out between waterings β hoyas dislike wet feet. Let it climb a trellis or trail from a shelf. Patient, rewarding, and full of old-school charm. Available in 3" and 4" pots.
